The Killer Is... a game about making deductions and telling stories.

Inspired by games like Ace Attorney and Danganronpa, and injected with the tension of films like The Hateful Eight, this is a game all about clues.

Over the course of an hour or so players will uncover clues, reveal shocking twists about them, then use them to deduce the identity of the killer in their midst.

A splatter of blood on the bedroom door suggests a fight took place within (but then why is there no blood in the room?). A letter begging for more time to pay off a debt suggests that the murder might have been motivated by money (though surely it would have been hidden better? Perhaps its discovery was intentional?). The truth exists as it is interpreted from the emerging collection of clues, and the use of clever storytelling and wit forms the bulk of deduction that goes on.

Designed to run without a GM, each player takes the role of a classic mystery story archetype. From the detached Socialite, the out-of-town Wanderer, to even the gritty Lawman - everyone at the table is equally suspicious - and equally likely to be the killer.

In this game, truth shifts at a moment's notice, and who The Killer Is....

...well, that's for you to discover.

TKI... is a completed zine, and entirely playable. However, there's still some polishing and tweaking to be done; since I still consider it a work in progress, it's being released as a pay-what-you-want for now.  Updated versions of the PDF will be made available here, if/when significant adjustments are made to the zine.

Eventually, once the game has reached a point where I consider it fully ready and complete, it'll be launched as a normally priced zine. For now though, just pay-what-you-want and enjoy the game!
